Purgebox is a Chrome extension that helps you free up Gmail storage by moving emails to Trash. This policy explains exactly what data we access and what we do with it.

📋 Data we access

  • Email metadata only — sender, date, size, and category labels
  • Your Google account email address, to display within the extension

🚫 What we never do

  • We never read the content of your emails
  • We never store your emails on our servers
  • We never share your data with any third party
  • We have no servers that receive your email data

All Gmail operations happen directly between your browser and Google's servers using your own Google account credentials.

💾 Data stored locally

The following is stored only in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API and never leaves your device:

  • Your Pro license key (if purchased)
  • Your Trash move count (for the free tier limit)
  • Scan results cache (cleared on re-scan or sign-out)

🔑 Permissions we use and why

  • gmail.modify — required to move emails to Trash on your behalf
  • gmail.readonly — required to scan and count emails by category
  • userinfo.email — required to display your account email in the app
